The integration, which has been in development since August 2023, introduces a unified login system allowing creators to access both platforms with a single account.

Lemon8, launched in Japan in 2020, combines elements of Instagram and Pinterest, offering features like:

• "Following" and "For You" feeds
• Creative tools including filters, effects, stickers, and text templates

The integration comes as TikTok faces potential regulatory challenges in the United States. While ByteDance positions Lemon8 as a sister app to TikTok, it may face similar scrutiny due to its Chinese ownership. However, recent political developments, including former President Trump's changed stance on TikTok, could impact the platform's future in the US market.
