Former SM Entertainment founder Lee Soo-man has launched A2O Entertainment, a new global artist development platform focused on young talent development. The agency has already begun revealing its initial roster of artists.
A2O Entertainment organizes its talent into four distinct groups:
- Low teen boys (15 and under)
- High teen boys (16 and up)
- Low teen girls (15 and under)
- High teen girls (16 and up)
Key Points About A2O Entertainment:
- Training process will be transparent, with fans able to follow artists' development
- Low teen members will graduate to high teen status as they age
- Most initial signees are from China, with one from Japan
- Youngest current member is 12 years old
Due to a non-compete clause from his deal with Hybe, Lee Soo-man cannot participate in entertainment business activities in Korea for three years. As a result, A2O Entertainment appears to be focusing on international markets, with particular emphasis on China. The agency has already established presence on Chinese platforms including Weibo, Bilibili, and Douyin.
The company's "CAWMAN" initiative (Cartoon, Animation, Webtoon, Motion Picture, Avatar, and Novel) suggests plans to expand beyond traditional K-pop content into various media formats.
A2O Entertainment has launched with a multilingual website available in English, Korean, and Mandarin, demonstrating its global ambitions in the entertainment industry.
