Travis Scott Arrested in Paris After Hotel Security Guard Altercation
Travis Scott was arrested in Paris early Friday morning following an altercation with a security guard outside the George V hotel. Paris prosecutors confirmed police responded to a fight between Scott and a security guard who had intervened to separate the rapper from his bodyguard.
Melissa Nathan, Scott's representative, stated they are working with Parisian authorities to resolve the matter. TMZ footage shows police dragging Scott to a police vehicle before transferring him to an ambulance. During the incident, several vases were reportedly broken inside the hotel.
The altercation allegedly started when paparazzi were pursuing Scott through Paris. The rapper became agitated and reacted violently in the hotel lobby, prompting staff to contact police. Scott remains in custody but has not been charged.
Prior to the arrest, Scott attended the Olympics USA vs. Serbia men's basketball semifinal. Earlier that day, he had unsuccessfully sought police assistance to manage crowds of fans and paparazzi following him.
This incident follows Scott's recent legal troubles, including a dropped disorderly intoxication charge from a June yacht incident in Florida. He still faces a misdemeanor trespassing charge, with trial scheduled for September 10.
