This marks Epidemic Sound's third major acquisition in recent years, following AP Records (now Overtone Studios) in 2022 and Soundly in 2023.
Aentidote leverages Song Sleuth's AI technology to detect music usage that traditional systems often miss, including remixes, covers, and live recordings. The service boasts a 95% identification success rate, positioning itself as a leading solution for UGC music tracking and monetization.
Jordan Gross, CEO of Song Sleuth, emphasizes the need for a new approach to managing music usage across digital platforms. The partnership with Epidemic Sound aims to provide more accurate identification systems while ensuring fair compensation for artists, labels, and publishers.
With Goldman Sachs projecting the creator economy to reach nearly half-a-trillion dollars by 2027, this acquisition addresses the growing need for effective music rights management in the expanding UGC landscape.
