The settlement reached between Drake and iHeartMedia was described as "an amicable resolution" in recent court documents, though specific terms remain undisclosed.
Drake's lawsuit against UMG continues, focusing on allegations that the company engaged in improper practices to promote Lamar's track. The 38-year-old rapper claims UMG knowingly supported a song containing false allegations of pedophilia against him through its lyrics, album art, and music video.
The dispute gained additional attention when Lamar performed "Not Like Us" at the Super Bowl halftime show, albeit with censored content. Despite Drake's legal team's warnings about escalating litigation if the song was performed, the show became the most-watched halftime performance in history.
Key points of the ongoing legal battle:
- Drake filed the initial lawsuit in November
- The case against iHeartMedia is now settled
- UMG lawsuit continues in federal New York City court
- Kendrick Lamar is not named in the legal filings
- The Super Bowl performance has intensified the situation
