Loops is a new short-form video platform positioning itself as a decentralized alternative to TikTok. Created by Daniel Supernault, the developer behind Pixelfed, Loops aims to provide a safer, more moderated environment for sharing looping videos.

- Android app coming via APK (outside Play Store)
- iOS app pending TestFlight approval
- No web interface planned initially
Loops operates as a sub-project under Pixelfed, similar to Instagram's Reels feature, but with a focus on decentralization and user privacy. The platform's timing could be strategic, potentially benefiting from any future TikTok restrictions in the United States, similar to how Bluesky gained users during Twitter's temporary ban in Brazil.
