Sean 'Diddy' Combs Faces Federal Lawsuit Over Alleged 2001 Sexual Assault and Drugging
A woman has filed a federal lawsuit against Sean "Diddy" Combs, alleging he and his former bodyguard drugged and raped her at a New York City recording studio in 2001. The lawsuit was filed on Tuesday by Thalia Graves, who was 25 years old at the time of the alleged assault.

According to the lawsuit, Graves met Combs through her then-boyfriend, an executive at Bad Boy Records, around 1999-2000. In summer 2001, Combs allegedly invited her to discuss her boyfriend's "performance issues." The suit claims Combs offered her wine in an SUV, which made her feel dizzy and weak. At the studio, she lost consciousness and awoke naked with her hands bound.
The lawsuit alleges that both Combs and his former head of security, Joseph "Big Joe" Sherman, sexually assaulted her while she was incapacitated. Graves claims she later learned the assault was recorded on video and shown to others.
Graves states she did not report the incident at the time due to fear of retaliation. She alleges both men later threatened her to maintain silence, including threats regarding custody of her son.
The lawsuit details ongoing trauma, including anxiety, panic attacks, and hyper-vigilance that have strained her relationships. Sherman denies all allegations, stating he wasn't employed by Combs at the time of the alleged assault.
This lawsuit follows recent federal charges against Combs in New York for sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution, as well as a separate lawsuit filed by his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in November.
