Lauryn Hill Faces Fraud Lawsuit from Fugees Bandmate Pras Michel Over Failed Tour
Former Fugees member Pras Michel has filed a federal lawsuit against Lauryn Hill, alleging fraud and breach of contract regarding their canceled 2023 tour. The lawsuit was filed in the Southern District of New York on October 1.

Key allegations in the lawsuit include:
- Hill "grossly mismanaged" the tour's planning, marketing, and budgeting
- She took 40% of tour guarantees and profits "off the top," leaving the remaining 60% to be split between herself, Pras, and Wyclef Jean
- Hill allegedly rejected a $5 million Coachella offer without consulting other members
- The tour budget was "bloated with unnecessary expenses"
- Hill entered into a new agreement with Live Nation without disclosing it to Michel
The tour was abruptly canceled in November, with Hill citing vocal strain. Michel claims Hill exploited his financial situation, knowing he needed money for legal fees related to his involvement in the 1MDB scandal case.
Hill has responded to the lawsuit, calling it "baseless" and "full of false claims and unwarranted attacks." The suit also mentions Hill's recent performance issues, including arriving four hours late for a show in Nairobi, Kenya, which Michel claims has "tarnished the Fugees brand."
