The new glass structure will maintain the venue's signature views of Manhattan's skyline and Brooklyn Bridge while providing climate-controlled comfort. The winter configuration will accommodate 3,000 fans and include a new VIP balcony level, while the summer open-air format will host up to 3,500 guests.

Live Nation will continue as the exclusive booking partner following a five-year extension agreement with Seaport Entertainment Group. The venue expansion will add approximately 25 more performances during late fall and winter months, supplementing its current schedule of 60+ concerts between May and October.

Key Features of the Enhanced Venue:

  • Retractable glass enclosure with floor-to-ceiling windows
  • Climate-controlled environment for winter concerts
  • Preserved panoramic NYC views
  • Flexible capacity: 3,000 (winter) to 3,500 (summer)
  • New VIP balcony level
  • Seasonal convertibility between enclosed and open-air formats

The transformation represents a significant upgrade to New York City's live music scene, offering year-round entertainment while maintaining the venue's distinctive waterfront atmosphere. Located five stories above the East River, The Rooftop at Pier 17 will continue to provide an intimate concert experience with unparalleled city views, regardless of season.
