Di'Anno served as Iron Maiden's lead singer from 1978 to 1981, featuring on their self-titled debut album and the follow-up "Killers." His distinctive vocals and energetic presence helped establish the band's early sound during the New Wave of British Heavy Metal era.

After leaving Iron Maiden due to personal struggles and creative differences with founder Steve Harris, Di'Anno maintained an active career spanning over four decades. He performed with bands including Battlezone and Killers, while also pursuing solo projects.

Despite health challenges in recent years that confined him to a wheelchair, Di'Anno continued performing live, completing over 100 shows since 2023. His final performance took place on August 30 at Hyde Park in Krakow, Poland.

His last recorded work, "The Book of the Beast," a career retrospective album, was released in September 2024.

Born on May 17, 1958, in Chingford, East London, Di'Anno's legacy in heavy metal remains significant, particularly for his contributions to Iron Maiden's foundational years and his subsequent solo career.
