Nintendo has launched a dedicated music streaming app exclusively for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, offering 40 years of gaming soundtracks on iOS and Android devices.

The Nintendo Music app features include:

  • Stream or download songs for offline listening
  • Search by song, game title, track name, or screenshot
  • Loop songs for 15, 30, or 60 minutes
  • Spoiler filter for game soundtracks
  • Create and share personal playlists
  • Browse Nintendo-curated playlists
  • Personalized recommendations based on gaming activity

Available game soundtracks include:

  • The Legend of Zelda
  • Super Mario
  • Animal Crossing
  • Splatoon
  • Metroid
  • Nintendogs
  • Kirby
  • Pokemon
  • Donkey Kong
  • Fire Emblem
  • Mario Kart

The app is free for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, with plans starting at $3.99/month or $19.99/year. Expansion Pack subscribers ($49.99/year) also get access to Nintendo 64, Game Boy Advance, and Sega Genesis games.

This launch follows Nintendo's recent crackdown on YouTube game music uploads, showing the company's strategy to maintain control over its musical content while providing official access through its subscription service.
