Legendary music producer Quincy Jones has died at age 91 in his Bel Air home, surrounded by family and friends. The 28-time Grammy winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee leaves behind an extraordinary legacy spanning over six decades in the music industry.

Jones' remarkable career included collaborations with iconic artists like Frank Sinatra, Count Basie, Ray Charles, and most notably, Michael Jackson, producing his landmark albums "Off the Wall" (1979), "Thriller" (1982), and "Bad" (1987).

As a producer, arranger, and composer, Jones worked with countless influential artists including Aretha Franklin, Ella Fitzgerald, and Dizzy Gillespie. He also made significant contributions to film, producing and scoring "The Color Purple" (1985) among many other projects.

His family released a statement saying, "Although this is an incredible loss for our family, we celebrate the great life that he lived and know there will never be another like him. Through his music and his boundless love, Quincy Jones' heart will beat for eternity."

Industry leaders and artists have shared tributes highlighting Jones' impact:

"We have lost one of the all time greats," said Darius Rucker.

"My Celestial twin Quincy was a titan in the musical world," wrote actor Michael Caine.

Warner Chappell executives noted, "Words like titan, genius, GOAT, will be used today and he deserves it all."

Up until his passing, Jones remained active in the music industry, including recent investments in music-rights companies. His final film score was released in February 2024 for the movie "Lola."
