Meta Offers TikTok Stars Up to $50,000 Monthly to Switch to Instagram Reels
Meta is aggressively targeting TikTok influencers with lucrative contracts to create exclusive content for Instagram Reels. According to Business Insider's investigation of the contracts, Meta is offering monthly payments ranging from $2,500 to $50,000 to popular TikTok creators.

The payment structure is divided into five tiers:
- Tier 1: $50,000 per month
- Tier 2: $25,000 per month
- Tier 3: $15,000 per month
- Tier 4: $5,000 per month
- Tier 5: $2,500 per month
Contract requirements include:
- Posting at least 10 new Reels monthly
- Creating exclusive content for Instagram for 3 months
- Videos must be 15 seconds to 3 minutes long
- Posting 25% more content on Reels than other platforms
- Converting two Reels monthly into Instagram Stories
- Promoting Instagram Reels twice monthly on their primary platform
Some creators have been offered up to $300,000 for six months of content. Meta is primarily targeting influencers with over one million TikTok followers.
However, not all creators are enthusiastic about these offers. Some have called the deals "cheugy" (Gen Z slang for cringe), while others find the posting requirements too demanding. One manager noted that tracking the 25% higher posting requirement for Reels makes the deal "untenable."
Meta has not officially commented on these payment offers, while TikTok continues to face uncertainty in the U.S. market due to ongoing ban discussions and potential ownership changes.
