Lil Wayne Reveals 'Tha Carter VI' Release Date During Super Bowl Cetaphil Commercial
Lil Wayne has confirmed the release date for his highly anticipated album 'Tha Carter VI' through a creative Cetaphil Super Bowl advertisement campaign titled "We're All A Lil Sensitive."

The advertisement cleverly incorporates the release date June 6, 2025 (6-6-25) through multiple visual cues, including football jerseys and a basketball scorecard. The ad concludes with Wayne declining Super Bowl tickets, stating "Nah, this is time sensitive," before entering his studio with a door sign reading "Do Not Disturb 'Til 06-06-2025" and "Carter VI" written on duct tape.
The campaign addresses Wayne's public disappointment about not being selected for this year's Super Bowl halftime show in his hometown of New Orleans. "This campaign made perfect sense to me," Wayne told Rolling Stone. "The world knew I was disappointed, but what they didn't know was that it made me determined to deliver something way bigger."
The NFL ultimately chose Kendrick Lamar and SZA for the halftime show. Lamar's recent album GNX references Wayne's situation in the track "wacced out murals," where he raps: "Used to bump Tha Carter III, I held my Rollie chain proud/ Irony, I think my hard work let Lil Wayne down."
Wayne previously expressed gratitude to his fans for their support following the Super Bowl announcement: "It made me feel like shit, not getting this opportunity, and when I felt like shit, you guys reminded me that I ain't shit without y'all."
'Tha Carter VI' is scheduled for release on June 6, 2025, marking the latest installment in Wayne's legendary album series.
