Gateway Center Arena in College Park, Georgia has canceled two scheduled Bassnectar shows following public backlash related to ongoing sexual assault allegations. The shows were originally planned for April 26 and 27.

The venue announced their decision after conducting an internal evaluation, citing community safety and wellbeing as their primary concerns.

The controversy stems from a April 2021 lawsuit where two women accused Lorin Ashton (Bassnectar) of sexual abuse of minors, human trafficking, and child pornography. Two additional women later joined the lawsuit, though one withdrew when required to reveal her legal name. The case remains in discovery with trial scheduled for February 2025.

Ashton's legal team maintains his innocence, stating he "has always denied these outrageous and offensive allegations" and has never been found liable or charged. They characterized the venue's decision as "cancel culture gone mad."

This isn't the first cancellation Bassnectar has faced. Similar shows were canceled at Harrah's Cherokee Center in Asheville, North Carolina in October. However, the artist has successfully performed sold-out shows in Las Vegas and New York City's New Year's Eve event during his recent comeback tour.
