A federal judge has granted a dismissal motion in the Madonna late-start lawsuit, though Live Nation may still pursue sanctions and legal fees against the plaintiffs.

The recent series of court filings revealed that while plaintiffs attempted to file a notice of settlement, Live Nation's legal team quickly contested this claim, stating no settlement had been reached. The court subsequently struck down the settlement notice after a telephone conference.

The plaintiffs then submitted a voluntary dismissal with prejudice, suggesting each party would "bear its own fees and costs." However, Live Nation strongly opposed this position, with their attorneys characterizing the lawsuit as a "frivolous strike suit designed to force them to incur legal expenses."

Live Nation's counsel explicitly reserved "the right to move for sanctions, attorneys' fees, and costs." The presiding judge's final dismissal order included retention of the court's right to impose sanctions.

A parallel lawsuit with similar allegations continues in Washington, D.C., involving at least one of the same attorneys from this case.
