The Wong Janice discovered her love for cello at age eight, drawn to its rich sound that closely resembles the human voice. Coming from a Chinese background where learning musical instruments was common, she initially started with piano at age six before finding her true calling with the cello.

Her musical journey took an unexpected turn at thirteen when she discovered her ability to replicate pop songs on the cello. This revelation sparked a new passion, though a failed audition where she couldn't improvise became a pivotal moment in her career path.

Despite playing with various bands, including an electronic dance band, discouraging words from a respected music teacher led Janice to temporarily abandon music. She pursued a master's in marketing and built a successful corporate career at Adidas, working with major artists like Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez.

A transformative experience came during a ten-day silent Vipassana meditation retreat, which Janice attended during a career crisis. This spiritual journey helped her realize she needed to return to music, leading her to study at Abbey Road Institute in Amsterdam.

Through careful self-reflection and market research, Janice discovered a unique niche: creating meditative cello music. She successfully produced and distributed multiple albums through CD Baby, becoming a CD Baby Plus artist who releases music directly to her audience.

Today, Janice focuses on creating music that offers listeners a chance to find freedom and peace, drawing from both her classical training and meditation experiences. Her journey exemplifies how embracing one's true calling, despite setbacks, can lead to authentic success.

"I would like to continue to make music to feel free, and give my listeners that chance to also let go and be free," she reflects, emphasizing the importance of finding contentment rather than constantly chasing more.
