Ghost's Tobias Forge has announced that their upcoming world tour will be a phone-free experience, with attendees required to secure their devices in Yondr pouches during performances.

The decision comes after the band's successful experience filming their 2024 movie "Rite Here, Rite Now," where phone-free shows resulted in noticeably more engaged audiences. Forge observed that without phones, crowds were "phenomenal" and "fully engaged" in a way reminiscent of concerts from years past.

Key benefits of the phone-free policy:

  • Increased audience engagement
  • Enhanced concert experience
  • More authentic crowd interaction
  • Better atmosphere for theatrical performances

Forge emphasizes that the policy isn't about copyright control - attendees keep their phones in Yondr pouches and can access them in designated areas if needed. The focus is on creating an immersive experience, particularly beneficial for younger audience members who might not have experienced phone-free concerts before.

Ghost's world tour begins April 15, 2025, at Manchester's AO Arena, supporting their new album "Skeletá" (releasing April 25). The tour spans Europe, North America, and Mexico, concluding September 25 in Mexico City.
