Concord Acquires Hit Songwriter Johnny McDaid's Publishing Catalog, Including Ed Sheeran Hits

Concord has acquired the song catalog of Johnny McDaid, a former Snow Patrol member, accomplished songwriter, musician, and producer. The deal includes both his existing works and future compositions through a worldwide publishing agreement.

Notable hits in the acquisition include Ed Sheeran's "Photograph," "Shivers," and "Bad Habits," as well as BTS' "Permission to Dance." McDaid's impressive songwriting portfolio includes collaborations with renowned artists such as P!nk, Lewis Capaldi, Keith Urban, Shawn Mendes, Alicia Keys, and Sam Smith.

Originally from Derry, Northern Ireland, McDaid developed his songwriting skills as a street performer in London. He led the band Vega4 for a decade before joining Snow Patrol in 2011, where he contributed as a pianist, guitarist, and backing vocalist.

Throughout his career, McDaid has demonstrated versatility in his collaborations, writing for diverse artists across genres:

Jim Selby, Chief Publishing Officer at Concord, praised McDaid's ability to create both personal and universally resonant music. The deal was negotiated by Reed Smith, LLP for Concord, while McDaid was represented by Michelman & Robinson, LLP, along with his business manager Kevin McCullough and lawyer Willie Ryan.
