The deal encompasses Haddaway's massively successful "What Is Love," which has garnered over one billion streams and gained renewed popularity through its feature in the 1998 film 'A Night at the Roxbury.' The acquisition also includes tracks from artists Bad Boys Blue, London Beat, and Wolfgang Petry.

"What Is Love" has maintained its cultural relevance through various adaptations, including Eminem's "No Love" (2010) and the recent Grammy-nominated "Baby Don't Hurt Me" by David Guetta, Anne-Marie, and Coi Leray (2023).

Originally founded in 1981 as Coconut Records by Karin Hartmann and Tony Hendrik, the label achieved significant success with "What Is Love," which topped charts in 13 countries and earned multiple platinum and gold certifications.

The deal includes Coconut's entire 2,500-track catalog, with BMG committed to preserving and promoting these influential recordings for future generations.

"Building Coconut was a labor of love," says Co-Founder Karin Hartmann. "We found a buyer which understood and respected what we achieved and would do this catalog justice."
