Ariana Grande advocates for mandatory therapy sessions in record label contracts, especially for young artists dealing with sudden fame and its challenges. During a recent appearance on Marc Maron's "WTF" podcast, the 31-year-old superstar shared her personal experiences with fame's impact starting at age 19.

"It's so important that these record labels, these studios, these TV studios, these big production companies, make [therapy] a part of the contract," Grande emphasized, suggesting therapy sessions should be mandatory several times per week for artists signing life-changing deals.

The singer detailed her struggles with public scrutiny, including body image issues, relationship rumors, and media attention affecting her family. She noted that artists are particularly vulnerable due to their emotional nature, making them ill-equipped to handle intense public attention.

Grande's advocacy follows recent discussions about artist welfare in the music industry, partly sparked by Chappell Roan's Grammy acceptance speech. The "Wicked" star also previously addressed these issues on Penn Badgley's "Podcrushed" podcast, discussing her experiences on Nickelodeon's "Victorious" and the need for safer environments for young performers.

"A lot of people don't have the support that they need to get through being a performer at that level at such a young age," Grande stated, emphasizing the industry's responsibility to protect artists from fame's negative impacts. She believes this protection should be non-negotiable in contracts, as studios and labels are aware of how an artist's life will change upon signing.
