The song, written by John Paul Young and produced by John Carter, was originally intended for the 1984 album but didn't make the final cut. It features Turner's signature rock sound, complete with guitar solos, organ, and driving drum rhythms.

Private Dancer marked a pivotal moment in Turner's career, selling 10 million copies and earning three Grammy awards. The album's standout hit, "What's Love Got to Do With It," reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, while the album peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200.

This release comes nearly two years after Turner's passing at age 83 on May 24, 2023. Her legacy extends beyond music, as she became an inspiration for abuse survivors after documenting her experiences with former husband Ike Turner in her 1986 autobiography, I, Tina.

The 40th anniversary edition will feature "Hot For You Baby" alongside other previously unreleased tracks, adding to Turner's extensive catalog of hits that spans over five decades of her solo career.
