Universal Music Group (UMG) has been dropped from a sexual assault lawsuit against Sean "Diddy" Combs, while the case continues against the mogul, Bad Boy Records, and other defendants.

Model Crystal McKinney filed the lawsuit in May, alleging Diddy drugged and sexually assaulted her at his New York City studio in 2003. McKinney claims Diddy initially promised to advance her career before providing her with alcohol and marijuana allegedly laced with intoxicating substances.

The original lawsuit named several defendants:

  • Sean "Diddy" Combs
  • Bad Boy Records
  • Bad Boy Entertainment
  • Sean John Clothing
  • Universal Music Group

The lawsuit initially claimed UMG "enabled" Diddy's alleged misconduct and failed to implement proper procedures regarding sexual abuse. However, a joint dismissal notice has now removed UMG from the case "with prejudice and without costs."

This development follows a similar pattern where UMG, its CEO Grainge, and Motown subsidiary were also dropped from a separate sexual assault and sex trafficking complaint filed by Rodney Jones.

Diddy continues to face multiple sexual assault cases, including a recent filing that names Penske Media as a defendant. Additionally, Tupac Shakur's estate is reportedly considering legal action against Diddy regarding claims of his involvement in Tupac's murder.
