IndieKnow, founded in 2021 in Bangkok by Andy Haggerstone, provides musicians with essential tools for music releases, including:
- Release planner with comprehensive checklists
- Press release writing wizard
- Database of 1,000+ PR & radio contacts
- Monthly subscription at £7 or annual at £60
The acquisition will integrate IndieKnow's educational resources and step-by-step guides into Unhurd's platform, helping bridge the knowledge gap for artists preparing releases. While financial terms remain undisclosed, the deal includes IndieKnow's assets but not its personnel.
Existing IndieKnow subscribers will transition to Unhurd's platform, with full integration expected in early 2025. Alex Brees, Unhurd's founder and CEO, describes the acquisition as "a natural alignment" that enhances value for subscribers.
The expansion follows Unhurd's seven-figure seed round in Q1 2023, joining other recent significant investments in music promotion startups:
- SongTools: $3 million funding (February 2024)
- Groover: $8 million Series A (February 2024)
