Every holiday season, rapper Talib Kweli receives congratulations for an Amazon Prime Christmas ad that features a voice remarkably similar to his. However, Kweli has officially confirmed this isn't him.

The song in question is actually "A Good Time Coming (March of the Nutcracker)" by Tez Tez featuring Black Prez, released in 2022. The track blends "The Nutcracker" themes with modern hip-hop rhythms.

Taking to Bluesky, Kweli addressed the confusion: "Every holiday season people congratulate me on having my song used in an Amazon ad, except for this season... because the people I'm around support the strike. Here's the thing tho... I've never had a song used in an Amazon ad. That's not me. That's just someone who sounds like me."

Some fans have suggested legal action, including potential claims for right of publicity, defamation, and intentional misrepresentation due to the voice similarity. However, the legal merits of such claims remain uncertain.

The confusion is particularly notable given Kweli's known support of Amazon workers' strikes, making his alleged participation in an Amazon advertisement seemingly contradictory to his public stance.
