Spotify and Apple Music have launched a new 'Share to TikTok' feature, allowing direct sharing of music content to the short-form video platform. This integration expands on TikTok's existing "Add to Music App" feature launched last year.

Key Features:

  • Users can share tracks, playlists, albums, podcasts, and audiobooks directly to TikTok
  • Content can be shared via TikTok DMs or posted to the main feed
  • One-tap access to shared content, which opens in the respective music streaming app
  • Available on both iOS and Android devices

According to Ole Obermann, TikTok's global head of music business development, the "Add to Music App" feature has already generated:

  • Hundreds of millions of track saves
  • Billions of streams on partner music streaming services

This integration follows TikTok's recent decision to shut down its standalone TikTok Music service, strengthening its partnerships with established streaming platforms. The feature joins other social media music integrations, such as Instagram's "Add Song to Spotify" feature launched in October.

The move represents TikTok's continued focus on music discovery and artist promotion while expanding its partnerships within the music industry, including recent deals with ticketing platforms like Ticketmaster, AXS, CTS Eventim, and Eventbrite.
