SoundCloud Launches Budget-Friendly Artist Plan for Emerging Musicians
SoundCloud is introducing a new "Artist" subscription tier designed to bridge the gap between its Basic and Artist Pro (formerly Next Pro) plans, making professional music distribution more accessible to emerging artists.
The new Artist tier costs $3.25 monthly or $39 annually in the U.S., offering:
- 3 hours of upload time per month
- Distribution of 2 tracks monthly to major platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, TikTok)
- Monetization on SoundCloud and other platforms
- One monthly credit for AI mastering

This new tier provides professional tools at a significantly lower price point compared to the Pro tier ($8.25/month), making it more accessible for artists just starting their careers.
The program has already shown promising results during pilot testing in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, confirming strong demand for affordable professional music distribution tools among emerging artists.
This launch is part of SoundCloud's broader initiative to enhance its artist services platform, which began in 2022 following the acquisition of Repost in 2019. The company continues to develop new features including monetization tools and merch stores.
Additionally, SoundCloud recently launched "Ascending," a global artist development program that has already helped promote breakthrough artists like Shaboozey, Barry Can't Swim, and Kenya Grace.
