Addressing the criticism on Instagram Live, Snoop maintained his stance, stating, "Y'all can't hate enough on me. I love too much… Still a black man, still 100 percent black."

The rapper's apparent shift in stance toward Trump may be attributed to the former president's pardon of Death Row Records co-founder Michael "Harry O" Harris, who was serving a 25-year-to-life sentence. Snoop had actively lobbied for Harris' clemency and later acknowledged Trump's positive impact, telling the Sunday Times, "Donald Trump? He ain't done nothing wrong to me. [...] He has done only great things for me. He pardoned Michael Harris."

Other celebrities facing similar backlash include:

  • Kim Kardashian: Lost nearly 150,000 followers after posting about Melania Trump's inauguration outfit
  • DJ 3LAU: Defended playing at Trump's Starlight Ball, stating it was "an honor"
  • Jewel: Issued an apology to fans and the LGBTQ+ community after performing at Robert F. Kennedy's event

Jewel defended her decision by emphasizing the importance of mental health advocacy: "If I wait to try until I agree 100% with the people that might be willing to help me [address the mental health crisis in the nation], I'd never get off the bench. [...] We have to act now. We cannot wait another four years."
