Alt-pop artist Izzy MacArthur releases her debut EP 'Blame It On A Bad Dream' on November 8. The 5-track collection explores themes of personal growth, uncertainty, and late-night reflections during her transition into young adulthood.
The EP features previously released singles including "Exit Wounds" and "Landmines," alongside new tracks. Created in collaboration with Spencer Hattendorf, Nate Mondschein, and Fran Litterski, the EP maintains a cohesive narrative throughout.
Track Listing:
- "Light Sleeper"
- "Exit Wounds"
- "Landmines"
- "Misery Missing Company"
- "Sleepwalking"
MacArthur's songwriting tackles personal subjects with raw honesty, from mental health on "Landmines" to emotional vulnerability on "Light Sleeper." The EP's title comes from a line in "Light Sleeper," which MacArthur describes as representing her headspace during the writing process.
Drawing inspiration from artists like Lorde, Sam Fender, The 1975, and Fall Out Boy, MacArthur has already garnered over 98,000 Spotify streams with her previous releases. This debut EP establishes her as an emerging artist with strong storytelling abilities and deliberate songwriting skills.
MacArthur engaged fans in the EP's release through a unique social media scavenger hunt, where those who pre-saved "Landmines" received clues to solve collectively.
