The original partnership, established in 2019, was valued at $25 million over five years. While the terms of the new contract remain undisclosed, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell expressed satisfaction with the relationship, noting that all parties, including Jay-Z and Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez, are pleased with the arrangement.

Under Roc Nation's influence, the Super Bowl Halftime Show has featured prominent Black artists, including:

  • The Weeknd
  • Rihanna
  • Usher
  • Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige, and 50 Cent

The decision to select Kendrick Lamar for the 2024 performance in New Orleans sparked controversy when local artist Lil Wayne expressed disappointment at not being chosen to perform in his hometown. Wayne later shared on Instagram that the exclusion "broke" him, though it's worth noting that Super Bowl performers are rarely selected based on their connection to the host city.

Neither the NFL nor Roc Nation has officially addressed Lil Wayne's comments about the selection process.
