Meta Announces New Round of Layoffs Across WhatsApp, Instagram Teams
Meta has initiated another round of layoffs across multiple teams including Instagram, WhatsApp, and Reality Labs. The company confirmed these changes are part of a strategic resource reallocation effort.

A Meta spokesperson stated: "Today, a few teams at Meta are making changes to ensure resources are aligned with their long-term strategic goals and location strategy. This includes moving some teams to different locations, and moving some employees to different roles."
These layoffs continue Meta's efforts to "rightsize" the company following aggressive hiring during the pandemic period. Affected employees who didn't accept new positions were offered severance packages.
