A federal court has ordered Martin Shkreli to surrender all copies of Wu-Tang Clan's "Once Upon a Time in Shaolin" album by August 30th, following a preliminary injunction requested by crypto company PleasrDAO.

The rare album, released in 2015 with only one physical copy, was initially purchased by Shkreli for $2 million. After his conviction on securities charges, authorities seized the asset, which PleasrDAO later acquired for $4.75 million.

PleasrDAO filed a lawsuit in June, alleging Shkreli retained unauthorized copies of the album's data and files after forfeiture, violating the Defend Trade Secrets Act. The company claims he plans to release these copies publicly, despite the album being intended as a single-copy release.

Judge Pamela K. Chen's order prohibits Shkreli from:

  • Possessing any copies of the album
  • Using or disseminating the content
  • Selling any interest in the work

The court requires Shkreli to:

  • Submit all copies to his counsel by August 30th
  • Sign an affidavit confirming he no longer possesses the album
  • Provide names and contact information of anyone who received copies
  • Disclose any financial proceeds by September 30th

The judge warned that any violation of these terms could result in contempt of court charges. Shkreli has responded to the injunction and related NFT sales reports through social media posts.
