Rising to fame at age 16, Faithfull's breakthrough came with the 1964 hit "As Tears Go By," written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. Her relationship with the Rolling Stones, particularly her romance with Jagger from 1966, defined much of her early career and inspired numerous classics including "Wild Horses" and "Sister Morphine."

Faithfull's career spanned multiple decades and mediums. Her 1979 album "Broken English" marked a significant comeback after years of personal struggles, including addiction and homelessness in the early 1970s. Beyond music, she established herself as an accomplished actress, appearing in productions ranging from classical theater to films like "Marie Antoinette" and the TV series "Absolutely Fabulous."

Mick Jagger paid tribute on Instagram, stating, "She was so much a part of my life for so long. She was a wonderful friend, a beautiful singer, and a great actress."

Known for her distinctive alto voice, Faithfull's legacy includes memorable performances of songs like "Come Stay with Me," "Summer Nights," and "This Little Bird." Her influence on the British music scene of the 1960s and her subsequent artistic reinvention cement her position as a significant figure in popular music history.
