Mariah Carey Reveals Her Lawyer Beat Her to Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction
Mariah Carey recently expressed her surprise that her lawyer, Allen Grubman, was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame before her. Despite being eligible since 2015, Carey has only just received her first nomination.

Grubman, who was inducted in 2022 in the Ahmet Ertegun Award category, is one of the Rock Hall's founders and has represented numerous music icons including Bruce Springsteen, Madonna, and Elton John. His induction sparked controversy, with fellow co-founder Jann Wenner criticizing it as being motivated by business interests.
"Everybody was calling me, going, 'I think you're getting in!' and so I was excited about it. But then it didn't happen. My lawyer got into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame before me," Carey told The Los Angeles Times.
Currently, Carey is preparing for her 2024 Christmas Tour and upcoming Las Vegas residency. She's also working on new music, with reportedly "nine or ten" songs in development, and has partnered with Amazon Music for Christmas merchandise, embracing her "Queen of Christmas" title.
