The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced its 14 nominees for 2025, featuring a diverse mix of musical legends and innovators.

The complete list of nominees includes:

  • Bad Company
  • Chubby Checker
  • Cyndi Lauper
  • Joe Cocker
  • Billy Idol
  • Joy Division/New Order
  • Maná
  • Soundgarden
  • The Black Crowes
  • Oasis
  • OutKast
  • Mariah Carey
  • Phish
  • The White Stripes

Eight artists are first-time nominees: Bad Company, The Black Crowes, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, Billy Idol, Maná, OutKast, and Phish. Notable among the nominees are two sets of previously estranged brothers from Oasis and The Black Crowes.

Standout nominees include Chubby Checker, whose hits "The Twist" and "Let's Twist Again" helped shape early rock and roll, and Mariah Carey, who has achieved 19 Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hits throughout her career.

The final inductees will be announced in late April, with additional honorees in three categories: musical influence, musical excellence, and the Ahmet Ertegun Non-Performer Award. The induction ceremony will be held in Los Angeles this fall.

Eligibility requirements include:

  • First commercial recording released at least 25 years ago
  • Significant impact on other musicians
  • Career longevity and body of work
  • Innovation and technical excellence

The selection process involves over 1,200 voters, including artists, industry professionals, and music historians. Last year's inductees included Mary J. Blige, Cher, Foreigner, A Tribe Called Quest, Kool & The Gang, Ozzy Osbourne, Dave Matthews Band, and Peter Frampton.
