Lizzo's legal team has filed a motion to dismiss a harassment and discrimination lawsuit brought by former employee and clothing designer Asha Daniels. The lawsuit, filed in September 2023 in Los Angeles, alleges that Lizzo and her team fostered a "racist and sexualized" work environment.

Daniels claims she witnessed harassment and bullying of dancers, background vocalists, and local team members, contrasting with Lizzo's public message of self-love and empowerment. In response, Lizzo's attorneys argue that the lawsuit is "meritless and salacious," stating that Daniels was terminated after failing to perform assigned work and missing Lizzo's Paris show.

The legal team also contests the lawsuit's jurisdiction, noting that Daniels is a New York resident who worked for a Delaware corporation in Europe, with no connection to California.

Ron Zambrano, Daniels' attorney, characterizes the dismissal motion as an attempt to "shift blame to the victims." He maintains that Lizzo, as the boss, is responsible for creating and allowing a "sexualized and racially charged environment" on her tours.

This lawsuit follows a similar August filing by three former dancers alleging sexual, racial, and religious harassment during their time on tour. Lizzo has denied all allegations through social media.
