Live Nation CEO Confirms Super-Premium Ticket Discussions With Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon
Live Nation, the global entertainment company, is in discussions with major streaming platforms about offering exclusive concert pre-sale access through their premium tiers. CEO Michael Rapino confirmed talks with Spotify, Amazon Music, and Apple Music during the company's recent earnings call.

Spotify's upcoming Super-Premium tier will reportedly include:
- High-quality audio
- Remix tools
- Exclusive concert ticket access
- Potential pre-sale opportunities
Rapino emphasized that pre-sale access is a "very valuable asset" that comes with associated costs. The challenge lies in scaling these offerings, particularly for high-demand artists like Beyoncé, whose recent Cowboy Carter Tour featured multiple pre-sale options including:
- BeyHive pre-sale
- Artist pre-sale
- Citi pre-sale (US)
- Verizon Up pre-sale (US)
- Mastercard pre-sale (UK and France)
While streaming platforms are eager to include concert access in their premium offerings, pricing could be a significant hurdle. Spotify's Super-Premium tier is expected to cost an additional $6 per month.
Spotify is already expanding into live events through:
- The Weeknd's "Billions Club" show
- Budweiser-sponsored immersive experiences
- A new hiring initiative for live event production
