The fires' impact has been severe, with the Palisades Fire causing eight deaths and the Eaton Fire resulting in 16 fatalities. The combined fires, including Kenneth and Hurst, have burned over 62 square miles. Currently, the Palisades Fire is 11% contained, while the Eaton Fire has reached 27% containment.

FireAid will take place on Thursday, January 30, with performer lineup and ticket information to be announced soon. The event will benefit a newly created 501(c)(3) organization focused on:

  • Rebuilding infrastructure
  • Supporting displaced families
  • Advancing fire prevention technologies
  • Improving emergency preparedness

The destruction has been unprecedented, with over 12,000 structures burned. AccuWeather estimates damages between $135-150 billion. In response, Governor Gavin Newsom has signed an executive order to expedite rebuilding efforts by suspending certain environmental regulations and freezing property tax assessments. Following President Biden's major disaster declaration, more than 24,000 people have registered for federal assistance.
