This collaboration marks Lamar's latest venture with Marvel, following his successful oversight of the Black Panther soundtrack in 2018. The announcement comes after Lamar's record-breaking Super Bowl halftime performance, which saw a 3% increase in viewership compared to Usher's 2024 show.
While details about the new track remain under wraps, Mackie praised "the beauty and mastery of [Lamar's] craft." The film's teaser trailer already features Lamar's "N95," but Mackie's comments suggest an entirely new song is coming.
The track will be Lamar's first solo release of 2025, following his sixth studio album GNX from November and his Grammy-winning Drake-diss track "Not Like Us."
'Captain America: Brave New World' debuts this Friday (February 14), featuring Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Captain America, alongside Harrison Ford, Giancarlo Esposito, Danny Ramirez, Carl Lumbly, and Tim Blake Nelson.
