A federal judge has ruled that the anonymous woman who filed a sexual assault lawsuit against Sean "Diddy" Combs must reveal her real identity by November 13, or face dismissal of her case.

Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil rejected the plaintiff's request to proceed anonymously, despite claims of potential harm from Combs. The Tennessee woman, who filed as Jane Doe, alleges Combs raped her in 2004 when she was 19 years old.

The judge emphasized two key points in her decision:

  • The constitutional right to open judicial proceedings outweighs the plaintiff's privacy interests
  • No credible current threat exists, as Combs has had no contact with the plaintiff for approximately 20 years

This lawsuit is among more than dozen similar cases filed since Combs's arrest on sex trafficking and racketeering charges in September. Attorney Tony Buzbee, representing the plaintiffs, has indicated that over 120 additional lawsuits may be forthcoming.

Judge Vyskocil acknowledged that while the plaintiff may face public scrutiny due to Combs's celebrity status, this concern doesn't override the defendant's right to investigate claims against him or the public's right to transparent court proceedings.
