Phish raised over $4 million for addiction recovery through a three-night concert series at Albany's MVP Arena. The proceeds from tickets, merchandise, and livestream sales will support the Divided Sky Foundation's recovery facility in Ludlow, Vermont.
The concert series launched a $10 million campaign to fund:
- Capital improvements
- Property acquisition
- Staff expansion
- Scholarship programs for those unable to afford treatment
The Divided Sky Residential Recovery Program distinguishes itself by combining addiction recovery with outdoor activities and personal development. The program's impact was evident as several alumni attended the concerts, manning information tables. Additionally, 300 mental health professionals received complimentary tickets.
The band's commitment extended beyond performances:
- Drummer Jon Fishman wore a special Divided Sky-branded dress, later to be auctioned
- The Waterwheel Foundation organized a pre-show fundraising reception
- All net proceeds were donated to the cause
This initiative follows Phish's previous benefit concerts in Saratoga Springs, which raised $3.5 million for flood recovery in Vermont and upstate New York.
"Because of these concerts, we will be able to help many more people take charge of their lives and recover from addictions," said Melanie Gulde, Program Director & Co-Founder of Divided Sky, which was established by Phish guitarist Trey Anastasio.
