Jay-Z and Diddy Named in Sexual Assault Lawsuit Over Alleged 2000 Attack on Minor
A woman has amended her lawsuit against Sean 'Diddy' Combs to include allegations that Jay-Z (Shawn Carter) sexually assaulted her when she was 13 years old at a VMAs afterparty in 2000.

The anonymous plaintiff (Jane Doe) claims she became disoriented after consuming a drink at the party. According to the lawsuit, she was allegedly assaulted first by Carter and then by Combs before fleeing the scene.
Prior to amending the lawsuit, Jane Doe's legal team attempted to reach out to Carter for mediation. The lawsuit claims Carter responded by filing what they describe as a "frivolous lawsuit" and allegedly orchestrating harassment against the plaintiff's legal representatives.
Carter has strongly denied the allegations, calling them "heinous in nature" and a "blackmail attempt" in a statement to CNN. He expressed concern about having to explain these allegations to his children, particularly noting the impact on his daughter whose friends might see the press coverage.
The lawsuit emerges amid broader legal troubles for Sean Combs, who was indicted in September on sex trafficking, racketeering, and prostitution charges and remains in federal custody.
Tony Buzbee, the attorney representing Jane Doe, faced accusations of extortion from an anonymous male celebrity in November, claims which he denied via Instagram. Buzbee stated, "If you are trying to hide your identity and you claim you did nothing wrong, doesn't seem very smart to take this approach."
