An anonymous woman has withdrawn her lawsuit against Jay-Z (Shawn Carter) and Diddy (Sean Combs), in which she accused them of rape when she was 13 years old. The case was dismissed with prejudice, meaning it cannot be refiled.

The lawsuit, filed four months ago, alleged the plaintiff was lured by a limousine driver outside the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards and subsequently raped at an afterparty by both artists. However, multiple inconsistencies emerged during the investigation:

  • Investigators could not locate the described property where the alleged assault took place
  • Claims about musician Benji Madden's presence were disproven, as he was touring in the Midwest at the time
  • Other details in the accuser's story did not align with verifiable facts

Jay-Z strongly denied the allegations, calling them "frivolous, fictitious, and appalling." Through Roc Nation, he expressed concern about the trauma inflicted on his family and emphasized the importance of protecting both victims and those falsely accused.

Diddy, who faces separate legal challenges including federal sex trafficking and racketeering charges, maintains his innocence. His legal team stated this dismissal will be "the first of many that will not hold up in a court of law." They assert that Combs has never engaged in sexual assault or trafficking of any kind.

The case was voluntarily dismissed by the plaintiff's attorneys, who did not provide specific reasons for withdrawing the complaint. Diddy remains in custody in New York City, awaiting his trial scheduled for May.
