Jack Antonoff, renowned musician and producer, has announced plans to establish free public recording studios in LGBTQ+ youth shelters nationwide. The initiative aims to provide professional recording opportunities to those who typically cannot afford studio time.

The project, partnering with the Ally Coalition, will include:

• A network of funded engineers to provide training
• Full studio maintenance and engineering support
• Managed time slots distributed by the centers
• Future expansion into additional cities

Antonoff emphasizes the unique value of professional studio spaces, noting that while home recording technology has advanced, the studio environment offers:

• Ability to create unique, unreplicable sounds
• Time-limited creative pressure
• A distinct creative atmosphere

"I dream of the studio being a place that anyone can access, not just those with the money to do so," Antonoff stated. The initiative specifically targets individuals who cannot afford commercial studio time, potentially benefiting the broader recording studio industry by creating new opportunities for aspiring musicians.
