Federal Judge Denies Gag Order in Diddy Sex Trafficking Case
A federal judge has denied Sean "Diddy" Combs' request for a gag order in his ongoing sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy case.

Judge Arun Subramanian rejected the motion, which would have restricted public statements by victims and their attorneys. The judge emphasized that a gag order would be an "extreme remedy" that could violate First Amendment rights while attempting to ensure a fair trial.
Combs' legal team, led by attorney Marc Agnifilo, argued that media coverage and statements from accusers' attorneys were prejudicing public perception. They claimed these statements contained "shockingly prejudicial and false allegations" that could compromise the trial's integrity.
The defense has also renewed their request for Combs' release on a $50 million bail, citing similar cases where defendants were granted release. They referenced the case of former Abercrombie & Fitch CEO Mike Jeffries as precedent.
The trial is scheduled for May 2025. Combs continues to maintain his innocence against all charges, which include allegations of operating a sex trafficking network. He remains in detention as legal proceedings continue.
"The court has an affirmative constitutional duty to ensure that Combs receives a fair trial," Judge Subramanian stated. "But this essential requirement must be balanced with the protections the First Amendment affords to those claiming to be Combs's victims."
