Fat Joe recently shared his candid thoughts about the current state of celebrity culture during an appearance on Math Hoffa's My Expert Opinion podcast. The rap veteran expressed serious concerns about 2024, describing it as potentially "the worst year ever in hip-hop history."
"This is the worst time to be a celebrity in the history of mankind," Joe stated emphatically. He pointed to the increased scrutiny of industry legends and mentors, noting how the landscape has dramatically changed for public figures.
The rapper highlighted how even wealthy individuals who aspire to celebrity status might want to reconsider, given the current climate. "I got friends who are filthy rich that wanna be popping and wanna be a celebrity," he said, "I don't think they want everybody in they shit like that."
When discussing the recent public issues between Remy Ma and Papoose, Joe explained his decision to stay neutral despite being their daughter's godfather. "It's a hard situation," he explained. "Nobody comes to my house and tells my wife shit. This is your husband. I can't get in the middle of that."
In response to Joe's comments, Papoose later clarified, "Peace to my brother Fat Joe; I think y'all misunderstood his interview," suggesting the situation might not be as severe as initially portrayed.
