Multiple artists are withdrawing from Australia's Earthcore Festival just days before the event's scheduled start on November 23rd due to missed payments and logistical issues.

DJ duo Coming Soon and Phaxe announced their cancellation on Facebook, citing that the festival organizers failed to pay them or book their flights despite repeated promises. Coming Soon stated this was unprecedented in their 15 years of industry experience.

"We have to mention that [we've never been] treated like that ever in our 15 years in the industry and we will never work with this promoter ever again," the duo posted.

According to the artists, over 10 more performers are expected to pull out for similar payment issues. They claim the promoter continued advertising artists' names to sell tickets despite knowing they couldn't afford to pay them.

Earthcore organizers attempted to explain the situation differently, claiming on their Facebook page that Coming Soon and another artist, Bliss, withdrew due to being "double-booked."

The festival, founded in 1992, previously reached its peak in 2000 with 45,000 attendees at the seven-day outdoor EDM event. This situation follows several other major festival failures in 2017, including:

  • Fyre Festival's infamous collapse
  • Pemberton Music Festival's bankruptcy
  • The Gathering festival's alleged promoter disappearance

Ticket holders are being advised to request refunds, as the festival's status remains uncertain just days before its planned start date.
