Diddy's Mother Sued After Allegedly Forcing Bad Boy Co-Founder Out Using Violence
Bad Boy Entertainment co-founder Kirk Burrowes has filed a lawsuit claiming he was forcibly coerced into giving up his 25% stake in the company to Diddy's mother, Janice Smalls, in 1996.

According to the lawsuit, Diddy and Bad Boy attorney Kenneth Meiselas confronted Burrowes in his New York City office with a baseball bat, forcing him to sign over his shares under duress. Burrowes claims he was "frightened and intimidated" into compliance while "tears streaming down his face."
The 62-year-old former executive alleges that Smalls, now 84, orchestrated the transfer and engaged in a "decades-long scheme of intimidation, violence, fraudulent misrepresentation, and financial concealment." Burrowes states he is now homeless due to being systematically blacklisted from the music industry.
Key details of the lawsuit:
- Burrowes invested $100,000 when founding BBE with Diddy
- He seeks reinstatement of his 25% ownership stake
- Demands damages for financial losses and a forensic audit
- Claims he was Justin Combs' godfather, showing close family ties
"We are confident that the legal process will hold those responsible accountable," said Burrowes' attorney, Tyrone Blackburn. The case comes as Diddy remains in Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center awaiting trial on separate federal charges including sex trafficking and racketeering.
Burrowes addressed Smalls directly: "We started this out as a family unit... I looked out for your family, and you let them, as well as yourself, destroy mine. See you in court."
