A declassified CIA document from 1988 reveals fascinating details about a psychic spy program's attempt to locate the Ark of the Covenant. Through the Stargate Program, the agency employed remote viewing techniques to search for this biblical artifact.

The psychic, who wasn't informed of the target, provided eerily specific details matching biblical descriptions:

  • A wooden container with gold and silver decorations
  • Coffin-like shape adorned with seraphim
  • Located in a dark, wet Middle Eastern location
  • Surrounded by Arabic-speaking men in white garments
  • Protected by mysterious "entities" with unknown powers

The declassified files include drawings of the Ark and seraphim, along with notes suggesting it has a "resurrection-related" purpose and "cannot be opened until the time is deemed correct."

However, the findings are disputed. Joe McMoneagle, a former Army Warrant Officer and pioneer of the CIA's psychic warfare program, dismissed the document as "just a training exercise," telling the New York Post, "If remote viewing proves the Ark exists, then show us the Ark."

The Ark of the Covenant, believed to contain the Ten Commandments given to Moses, remains one of history's greatest archaeological and theological mysteries. While these CIA documents add an intriguing chapter to its story, the actual location of the sacred artifact continues to elude discovery.

The document's detailed descriptions and apparent accuracy have sparked renewed interest in both the Ark's whereabouts and the CIA's historical use of psychic intelligence gathering methods.
