Damon Dash's Roc-A-Fella Records Stake Heads to Auction Following $823,000 Court Judgment
Damon Dash's one-third stake in Roc-A-Fella Records will be auctioned on August 29 in New York City, following a court order to satisfy an $823,000 judgment owed to movie producer Josh Webber.

The auction comes after Webber won a defamation and copyright infringement lawsuit against Dash in 2022 regarding the film Dear Frank (2016). Despite objections from co-owners Jay-Z and Kareem 'Biggs' Burke citing company bylaws, Magistrate Judge Robert W. Lehrburger ruled that Dash's stake qualifies as a personal asset and can be seized for debt payment.
The United States Marshals Service will conduct the auction at a Midtown Manhattan hotel. Interested buyers must:
- Place a minimum bid of $1.2 million
- Provide a $240,000 deposit to participate
The sale will also address Dash's $145,096 debt to the New York City Department of Social Services for unpaid child support to Rachel Roy and Cindy Morales, benefiting two daughters and a son.
In his 15-page decision, Judge Lehrburger emphasized that the court's authority to enforce judgment is essential, stating, "Without jurisdiction to enforce a judgment entered by a federal court, the judicial power would be incomplete and entirely inadequate to the purposes for which it was conferred by the Constitution."
